Years of legislation and bolt-ons to the Medicines Act 1968 has been consolidated, as The Human Medicines Regulations 2012 has been brought into force. It seeks to replace the piecemeal laws in one document, although not all of The Medicines Act has been repealed, which seems to defeat the purpose of a consolidation exercise. The Regulations contain 349 sections and 35 schedules long.
