Witty announces new GSK transparency approach to drug trials

Sir Andrew Witty, CEO of GSK, has announced a new transparent approach to drug trial data. GSK will reveal its clinical data to external scientists with a view to showing that it has nothing to hide from its drug trials, and also to help others to find cures to diseases. Witty said that collaboration is essential to finding new drugs to treat diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis. He refuted criticism that GSK only published positive trials. Witty said the opposite was true and they publish everything. He admitted that GSK had to do more to get that message across. He claimed that nothing would make him happier than if outside scientists used GSK data to make new drugs.
